HOW IT ALL BEGAN.

It's been close to ninety years since the events of Kingdom Hearts.

When Mickey finally retired he gave all his power to the man who was once Sora, and passed along the role of 'King' to him as well. Time passes differently when you have the powers of Mickey, and Sora hasn't aged much since that day at all. Neither has Kairi, his queen, nor Riku, his most trusted friend.

Since sealing off the Disney worlds for the last time, a number of other worlds have appeared, and Sora reigns over them all, even if they don't know it, preserving the balance between them.
And for the most part, there has been balance, and relative peace. Sora has been watchful though. Even these new worlds have the occasional Heartless, and along with that, Nobodies. But nothing ever gets out of hand.

Until now.

There's been a huge spike in the number of Heartless and Nobodies around. It's too much for Sora to handle.
He quickly decided to send a keyblade to every one of the worlds he reigns over, so he could get a group of people to help fight the problem.

To help get all the Keybearers together, Sora had a plan. Not every Keyblade can seal every keyhole. In fact, most keyblades only have one certain keyhole they can lock off. A keybearer can never seal the keyhole that belongs to their own world, forcing them to cast off in search of where are needed.

On another small, dark world, a group of people called Synners have gathered. Despised by the people of their own worlds, they have come together to go to a world where there are no people. To do this, they have to open a gate, but upon opening it, they didn't find the paradise they had envisioned. Instead, creatures came out, creatures that took over the bodies of the group. In their new bodies, they were hungry for hearts, thus sending out wave after wave of the heartless.

The holders of the keyblades will have to destroy the possessed group and close the gate if they ever want to see their worlds back to normal again.
